Ben Franklin RV Park Introduce
Welcome to Ben Franklin RV Park, a campground located at 1350 Woodberry Rd in York, Pennsylvania. For travelers and residents in the PA region, this campground offers a pragmatic and convenient option for RV and camping needs. This article is designed to provide a factual and realistic overview of the park, based on publicly available information and customer feedback. While the park's website may showcase attractive photos, it's important to understand the full picture, including its strengths and areas that may not meet every camper's expectations. Ben Franklin RV Park is best understood as a practical solution for a specific type of visitor, particularly those who prioritize location and basic amenities for a short-term stay.
The park's identity is clearly defined by its function as a temporary stopover. As one review notes, "If you’re only passing through for the day/night and need a place to rest and need full hook up, then it’ll work in a pinch." This perspective is crucial for setting expectations. The park is not presented as a luxury destination with extensive recreational activities, but rather a functional and convenient place for travelers to rest. This focus on utility is also reflected in the business model, which appears to be designed for efficiency rather than continuous on-site staff presence. The fact that "there is nobody on site to help with any issues" and that communication is handled via a text number is a key detail for prospective visitors to be aware of.
While some visitors have had negative experiences with site navigation, a double booking, or the condition of certain communal areas, the park's management has been noted for its responsiveness via text. As one reviewer stated, "The text I sent for help when the site I rented didn't work for us was immediate, upbeat, and very helpful." This suggests that despite the lack of a physical office presence, there is a system in place to address issues, which can be a relief for campers who encounter problems.
It is important for anyone considering a stay at Ben Franklin RV Park to manage their expectations. This is a no-frills, practical stop that prioritizes accessibility and essential services over extensive grounds or a wide array of amenities. For the right traveler, its convenient location and basic offerings make it a suitable choice, particularly for overnight stays or a quick trip to the nearby attractions of York and beyond.

Ben Franklin RV Park Reviews
My goal in leaving reviews was to limit myself to positive reviews and just not post anything for negative ones. This said, I think a traveler should not be fooled by their attractive website photos of the Ben Franklin RV park. I speculated that maybe this park is a side hustle for an owner who doesn’t want to put too much effort into their facility (other than a banquet room). There is nobody on site to help with any issues that should arise. You can text a number, but that is it. Our site was okay but make sure you have extensions on your hoses because the water, dump or power can be far away. There were people who requested (and confirmed) full hook ups that didn’t get it. One poor fellow with a 5th wheel couldn’t fit in his site but luckily he swapped with someone else. Another site was double booked. Other sites had big dips and the park can be very tight to navigate. The lovely picture of their bathroom is in their banquet room - the reality of their showers and laundry room are quite different. For us, the location was good for moving to the York Fairgrounds the next day. But all this aside, I would not return here unless I absolutely had to. Hands down the worst park we have stayed at.
Aug 22, 2025 · D AtchIf you’re only passing through for the day/night and need a place to rest and need full hook up, then it’ll work in a pinch. It is in a convenient location. There’s no one on site, you text a number if you need anything or have issues/questions. Multiple full time residents. Sites are not well maintained, high grass/weeds, full dumpsters, dirty bathrooms/showers.
Aug 24, 2025 · Savannah McGinnisThe sites are not peaceful or pretty. Close to a major highway so lots of road noise 24/7. Or sewer was t working/draining. Some of the full timers had a lot of trash piled up outside. The fountain was off. But it is an easy on/off place and could be convenient when traveling. The online reservation and registration was easy. The text I sent for help when the site I rented didn’t work for us was immediate, upbeat, and very helpful. So the help staff was awesome!
May 19, 2025 · Lori GregoryBen Franklin RV Park – One of Our Worst Stays Since Going Full-TimeWe’ve been full-time RVers since 2020, and sadly, this park ranks as the second worst we’ve ever stayed at. We booked last minute and regretted it almost immediately.🚫 First Impressions:• Arrived to find the bathhouse bathroom clogged and the dump station broken.• Other campers said it had been that way for a while.• No staff on property—only a phone number to text. Hours later, we got a reply saying it was “being handled.”• Our campsite itself had several piles of uncleaned dog waste that we had to deal with.💥 The Fireworks Fiasco:Late Friday, we received an email saying there would be fireworks for a private event on Saturday night. It claimed they’d last only 15 minutes at dusk. To protect our elderly dogs, we left camp during that time. Instead, the fireworks started at 8:30 and went on for 45 minutes. When we returned, fireworks were hitting our RV and truck—we’re still checking for paint or rig damage. Our dogs were so upset they paced and cried all night. To make matters worse, leaving the property during the event was a mess. A petting zoo truck completely blocked the exit, and RVers were directed the wrong way out just to get around it. The whole setup felt unsafe and disorganized.⚠️ The Bottom Line:If you value safety, peace, and basic upkeep, this is not the park for you. Between poor maintenance, no on-site staff, unsanitary conditions, blocked exits, and a dangerous fireworks show, it completely missed the mark. We will not return, and I cannot recommend this park to anyone.
Aug 24, 2025 · Angela DiLoretoGreat place to stay for older people with no children as there is nothing for.kids to here. But the grounds and facility are maintained and clean. They have a frog pond but it was running yet. The full timers are very friendly as well. It was a great, quiet, peaceful and relaxing weekend.
