Round Top Campground is strategically located at 180 Knight Rd, Gettysburg, PA 17325, USA. This address places it just minutes from the world-renowned Gettysburg Battlefield, a major historical landmark that draws visitors from all over the world. Its location also offers easy access to the Maryland border, making it a convenient stop for those traveling between states. The campground's proximity to a major highway ensures easy access, though this can also mean some highway noise in certain sites.
The location offers a prime starting point for exploring more than just the battlefield. While some visitors feel there isn't much to do in the immediate area beyond the battlefield, the historical significance of Gettysburg provides more than enough to fill a trip with tours, museums, and historical reenactments. The town itself is full of charm and provides a great backdrop for a family vacation or a quiet historical retreat.
The campground's excellent road conditions and ease of access are significant advantages, with paved roads throughout the property. Round Top Campground Reviews
Roundtop Campground in Gettysburg Pennsylvania. This is what Thousand Trails calls an Encore Resort. The campground is located just minutes from the Gettysburg Battlefield and minutes from the Maryland Border. This is a very well maintained campground. The staff is out all day everyday making this place great for its guests.Bathhouses are clean and in good shape. The laundry facility is really great (although small with only 4 washers and dryers). It's clean, the machines are in good working order and payment has 3 options (coin, app or card). The camp store, pool and mini golf are all nice. The campsites themselves are close together. The campground is built on a hill so leveling your camper will need to be done. Most sites have a "leveled" area in them. All hook ups work although the water pressure could be better. Most sites are wooded and have a nice feel to them. Getting to the campground is easy as it is just off of the highway (unfortunately you can hear that highway in many of the sites). The staff is friendly and helpful. The roads are paved and in excellent shape. When entering watch for the sign and enter there, the other spot you can enter is very close to the office but has a big dip that lower rigs could bottom out on.This is probably one of the nicer campgrounds we have visited. We would definitely visit the campground again but unfortunately there isn't much to do in the area outside of the battlefield. There are plenty of supermarkets and restaurants in the area. We found that the area is a bit more expensive than other areas we have visited.Overall we give this campground a big thumbs up.
Aug 06, 2025 · William FisherWe came in town for a weekend and loved the campground. Got military discount and our campsite was great. We have 4 kids and the activities for Father’s Day weekend were organized, fun the kids loved them. I have to give a shout out to Jason the Activities Director he went above and beyond to make sure we were still included in things even though we had a lacrosse tournament to attend. He was upbeat and honestly made the trip! Highly recommend this campground if you’re in the area we hope to visit again.
Jun 17, 2025 · Kayla O'HaraCampsites were adequate, but, not close to good. Site were not level at all. We have a motor home with levelers, and needed to place boards and leveling pads under wheels and jacks.Location was about 4-5 miles from Gettysburg and very close to Hwy 15.We were a little disappointed in the quality of park, expected more from Thousand Trails.
Sep 13, 2025 · Nancy BolesOur 4 night stay was adequate but also disappointing. The staff was very friendly, inviting and helpful. The park is large, crowded and very active providing little space with no privacy. Our first site was somewhat of a flag lot that looked like an afterthought to pack more people in. The electricity did not work so we had to move and rehook-up to a different site close to the first. We found the pool, which was far away and uphill, inconvenient to use. Fortunately, we spent our time immersing in the Gettysburg battlefields so it was acceptable for sleeping and feeling safe.
Aug 28, 2025 · Wayne KingRound Top Campground is a gem! We found it to be a quiet haven with truly friendly people. The pool was excellent, a real bonus for unwinding. But what truly set it apart was its ideal location for exploring Gettysburg's historic sites. Being so close made our visits to the battlefields and other attractions effortless and enjoyable. Highly recommend!
