Jul 19, 2025 · Diane FlynnNice quiet campground on the water. New, so no shade trees. Has a tennis court which is awesome, and sadly rare to see at campgrounds anymore.Loved the boardwalk and the consistent breeze.Request is more umbrellas at the pool. There are only 3, and they’re only at the tables, none available for the lounge chairs. The sun is brutal. We’ll be back. :)
Jun 25, 2025 · Sue ReinckeWe just left Chincoteague Bay RV Resort and Cottages and overall had a great stay! The location is beautiful, the facilities were clean, and the staff we interacted with were friendly. That said, there were a few things that took away from the experience. We were disappointed to find out that the pool closes as early as 6:00 PM—even during the summer when it’s still light out. This felt especially unnecessary since the signage clearly states “swim at your own risk.” The front store also closed early, and there was no garbage pick-up after 4:00 PM. If you needed firewood or other essentials, you had to leave the campground to find them elsewhere. We were also charged $30 for early check-in, despite arriving only an hour and a half early—and even though the campground was nearly empty at the time. That fee felt unreasonable given the lack of demand.Additionally, the on-site food truck is only open on weekends, which was disappointing for those staying during the week. There were also no organized activities for kids during the week, which left fewer entertainment options for families. We still enjoyed our time here, but with some better planning around service hours, fees, and family programming, this resort could be a much better experience for all types of guests.
Jul 23, 2025 · Jenna LazaroffWe spent 4 nights here from Thursday to Monday, and we were impressed with the place. The welcome center was nice and sold all kinds of camping things that you may have forgotten to things you may have run out of. Anything from pop-up hampers to stinky slinkys. The sites are a decent size with a picnic table and fire ring. The comfort station where the bathrooms and showers are were emaculate. There's a pool, tennis courts, playground, and food truck. They had activities for the kids. Someone came around all day to pick up trash. The place was not packed when we were there, but everyone seemed to respect the quiet hours. We were not waterfront, but we had a nice water view. We booked our next stay with a discount before we left, which was awesome. The only thing that I found disappointing was them charging a $25 fee to lock in the site you reserved. Isn't that the purpose of a reservation. The fee is nominal, but I still feel like that's a bit shady. So much so that I debated on whether or not to give 5 stars, which I rarely do. However, my husband influenced my decision because he liked the place, and we did have a great stay.
Apr 23, 2025 · Michelle MoodyVery nice campground and convenient to everything on the Island. Only downside is it is very windy there, at least in the spring when we visited.Excellent boardwalk along the water, sites are a good size, everything clean and well maintained. Office folks are extremely friendly and give out doggie treats. Second visit and would go back again.
