They also have primitive cabin rentals for those who prefer a solid roof over their heads but still want the camping atmosphere. It is noted that some grass sites, particularly those on the fence line, might lack clear markings and can be muddy, so prospective campers may wish to inquire about specific site conditions.
Essential Amenities: Old Cedar Campground provides two bathhouses with showers, ensuring convenient access to clean facilities. A laundromat is also available on-site, a practical feature for longer stays. Free limited Wi-Fi is offered, with an option for high-speed Wi-Fi at an additional cost, allowing guests to stay connected if needed.
Recreational Facilities: For entertainment within the campground, there's a swimming pool (noted as clean by reviewers), mini-golf, a playground for children, a game room, fishing lakes, a basketball court, and a shuffleboard court. Many repeat visitors highlight the friendly, helpful staff who "treat you like family," creating a welcoming and comfortable environment.
Working Farm Ambiance: Uniquely, Old Cedar is also a working farm with domestic animals, including cows in nearby pastures. This adds a distinctive rustic charm and an opportunity for guests, especially children, to experience farm life firsthand, providing a pleasant backdrop to their camping experience.
Peaceful and Non-Commercial Vibe: Many guests appreciate that the campground is "not huge, commercial and overwhelming." This offers a more peaceful and relaxed atmosphere, making it ideal for those seeking a quiet getaway rather than a bustling resort-style park. It allows for genuine relaxation and a closer connection with nature.
Proximity to Local Winery: The ability to walk to the local Monroeville Vineyard and Winery via a dedicated trail is a significant draw. This unique feature provides an excellent opportunity for adult campers to enjoy wine tasting and vineyard tours without the need to drive.
Variety of Activities: Despite its non-commercial feel, Old Cedar Campground offers a good range of on-site activities including a swimming pool, mini-golf, fishing lakes, and a playground, ensuring there's something for everyone in the family to enjoy. They also offer planned weekend activities and hayrides during the season.
Large Wooded Sites: The presence of "large wooded sites" offers campers a sense of space and natural privacy, allowing for a more authentic camping feel. Old Cedar Campground Reviews
TICKS!This is not a great place if you are staying 1-3 nights. The sites on the Fence are grass with no great markings to distinguish between other campsite. Its essentially muddy patches with grass in between....The long term residents are overly snoopy and some are very rude...Its not worth the $70 a night fee we paid. Also, there are ticks everywhere! Because you're parked under trees with poorly maintained grass...the ticks are as bad as mosquitoes....
Jun 21, 2025 · J MethumI'm a repeat visitor to Old Cedar for many reasons. It's a quick getaway from where I live first. But most importantly, I'm comfortable there. It's not huge, commercial and overwhelming. The folks that run the place go over and above, are friendly, helpful and treat you like family. There's several options depending on what you want to experience and walking the grounds offfers great views and friendly guests. My last weekend there was peaceful and exactly what I needed. Very pet friendly and there are plenty of doggo friends and puppers. Thanks to the staff for another appreciated stay.
Nov 04, 2024 · Steve DI was originally a bit apprehensive reading some of the reviews especially in regards to the rules. We had no problems once we were there and had an overall pleasant experience with staff. We had a few people come and go during our trip and they only charged us they days they were there and made sure they had a place to park. The fishing pond provided a good source of entertainment and we were able to catch a good amount of fish. Sites were a bit small but we felt we had plenty of room while sitting around our fire at night. The only thing I can suggest to staff is that the pool entrance/exit doesn't really make sense. We weren't able to understand why you were only supposed to exit from the one side, the side that is further away from the campground. Also a sign pointing to the sign-in sheet would be nice. We didn't know you had to sign in at first luckily the pool monitor was nice enough to sign us in so we didn't have to get out of the pool. The min golf course is for sure out dated but it's a free amenity so really no complaints there either. Overall we had a good time and will likely be back.

Oct 12, 2024 · Michele BondiWe only stayed one night and enjoyed it. The staff was very friendly. They accommodated my late arrival and Liz even came over to check on us when we arrived. Definitely will stay here next time we're in the area.
