Roamers Beach RV Resort, located at 2021 Skip Morgan Dr, Hammonton, NJ 08037, is an established campground catering exclusively to RVs, motorhomes, and pop-up campers. Tent camping is not permitted at this resort. Situated on 80 forested acres, the highlight of the resort is its 10-acre lake, which provides a beautiful focal point for recreation and relaxation.
The resort aims to offer a "beach" experience by the lake, providing sandy areas right in front of many campsites, allowing direct water access. It prides itself on being a relatively quiet and uncrowded destination, making it an appealing choice for those seeking a more peaceful retreat compared to larger, more bustling campgrounds. While some facilities are noted as being "on the older side" and potentially in need of "updating all around," the core appeal lies in its natural setting and the beautiful lake. The resort is pet-friendly, welcoming furry family members to join the camping fun.
It's important for prospective visitors to be aware that, as per recent customer feedback, certain facilities, specifically the showers, have been undergoing renovations and may not be operational. This is a crucial detail to verify directly with the resort prior to booking, especially if on-site showers are a necessary amenity for your stay.
Roamers Beach RV Resort's location at 2021 Skip Morgan Dr, Hammonton, NJ 08037, USA, places it in the geographic center of many of South Jersey's attractions. Hammonton, often referred to as the "Blueberry Capital of the World," offers a charming small-town atmosphere with local eateries, shops, and seasonal festivals. The resort is conveniently situated to provide a balance between a natural, wooded retreat and easy access to popular destinations.
For New Jersey residents, the accessibility of Roamers Beach RV Resort is a significant advantage. It is within a reasonable driving distance from major population centers in the southern and central parts of the state, making it perfect for weekend getaways or longer vacations without extensive travel. Key travel times include:
- Approximately 30 minutes from the beaches of Atlantic City: This proximity allows campers to enjoy the tranquility of the resort's lakeside setting by day and the vibrant entertainment, casinos, and dining options of Atlantic City by night.
- Proximity to the Pine Barrens: The resort's location within forested acreage provides direct access to the unique ecosystem of the New Jersey Pine Barrens, offering opportunities for nature exploration and enjoying the tranquility of the woods.
While the immediate surroundings offer a peaceful environment, major roadways provide convenient access to a wider array of attractions. Nearby, visitors can explore other natural areas like Wharton State Forest, or enjoy local activities such as visiting wineries, golf courses, or local events in Hammonton and surrounding towns. Personal vehicle transportation is essential for navigating the area and making the most of the resort's convenient location.
Roamers Beach RV Resort focuses on providing essential services and amenities for a comfortable RV camping experience:
- RV & Pop-Up Camper Sites: The resort offers 215 full hookup sites, which typically include electric (30/50 amp), water, and sewer connections. Many sites are designed to sit right on the beach/lakefront, offering direct water access and great views.
- Restrooms: Restroom facilities are available for guests. However, it's crucial to note based on recent customer feedback that the showers within these facilities have been non-operational due to renovations for an extended period ("all season"). Prospective campers should confirm the status of shower facilities directly with the resort before booking if this is a vital amenity.
- Pet-Friendly: The resort is welcoming to pets on leashes, allowing guests to bring their furry companions along for the camping trip.
- Wi-Fi Access: Wi-Fi is available at the campsite, which is noted as a "plus" by a customer, allowing guests to stay connected if needed.
- Electric Hook-Up & Water Hook-Up: All sites include electric and water hook-ups for convenience.
- Sunday Church Service: For those interested, the campground offers a Sunday church service, contributing to a sense of community.
The primary point of concern regarding services, as highlighted by recent reviews, is the ongoing renovation and unavailability of showers. While the resort's team reportedly informs guests about this upon check-in, potential visitors should proactively confirm the status of all amenities, particularly those essential to their comfort, before making reservations.
Roamers Beach RV Resort offers several features and highlights that draw campers looking for a particular kind of outdoor experience:
- 10-Acre Lake with Sandy Beaches: The undisputed highlight of the resort is its beautiful 10-acre lake. It features sandy beaches, with many sites offering direct frontage, allowing kids (and adults) to "just play in the water all day." The lake is great for swimming and provides picturesque views.
- Water Activities: Guests can rent kayaks, canoes, or stand-up paddleboards directly from the main office, providing easy access to water-based recreation on the lake.
- Quiet and Not Crowded Atmosphere: Repeatedly described as "pretty quiet and not crowded," the resort offers a peaceful environment for relaxation, appealing to those who prefer a less bustling camping experience.
- Scenic Views: Campsites often boast "great views" of the lake, enhancing the overall aesthetic and relaxing ambiance of a stay.
- Nature Trail: The resort includes a nature trail, offering opportunities for leisurely walks and enjoying the surrounding forested environment.
- Recreational Facilities: Beyond the lake, the resort provides a playground for children, a softball field, a game room, volleyball, picnic areas, horseshoes, and shuffleboard courts, offering a range of on-site activities.
- River Fishing: Opportunities for river fishing are also available, appealing to angling enthusiasts.
- Pet-Friendly Environment: The inclusion of a pet-friendly policy ensures that dog owners can bring their companions along to enjoy the outdoor setting.
While these features contribute to a positive experience, the feedback also points to a need for "updating all around," suggesting that some facilities and infrastructure might show their age. This is a common aspect of older campgrounds, and while the lake is a strong draw, prospective visitors should manage their expectations regarding the modernity of all facilities.

Roamers Beach RV Resort Reviews
I booked the sight a month in advance and nobody mentions that the showers don’t work. I didn’t get a phone call until we had already checked in and paid and the kids were in the lake. This is when they decided to tell me the showers haven’t been working all season because they under renovations. Would have been good to know this prior to staying there. Other then that, nice sights, great view but definitely need updating all around.
Aug 24, 2019 · Daniel CicalaLet me start by saying this campground IS on the older side. It’s not going to give you all the amenities that some will offer, but we love the lake!! We have a site (there are many) that sit right on the beach and the kids can just play in the water all day. They even have Sunday church service if you’re interested. It’s pretty quiet and not crowded, so we will definitely be back. Also, WiFi at the campsite is a plus!!!
Jun 21, 2018 · William ShepherdA note to the new owners... What a shame, closed two years in a row. This used to be a nice campground under the previous owners. I don't know what the new owners are like but they seem to be scared of their own shadow. Afraid to open up unlike EVERY OTHER CAMPGROUND in South Jersey. We love the lake and those sites but they lost our business for good.
Apr 16, 2022 · ToddMy husband and I were at this campground last weekend for a mini vacation. We fell in love with Indian Branch last year and Roamers is on it's way to making this campground amazing. The sites are perfect, not packed in like some other parks. The staff is VERY friendly, talked to everyone that works there. Overall we did not want to leave!
Jun 26, 2019 · Bernadette VarelliI suggest you check this place out before you make reservations. I really wanted to like this place as it is close and a Christian business. I really appreciated seeing Bible verses around the campground. BUT this is super rustic. We basically dry camp with our RV at NJ state campgrounds. All I can say is that most of the state campgrounds are beautiful and half the price. Yes, no hookups but that is not a problem for us. Indian Branch does have WIFI and hook ups but it has no paved roads and it just looks not cared for. We drove around and checked it out - and left.
