Sea Pirate Campground Reviews
Honest Review – Be Aware of the Bugs! This was my first time here, and knowing bugs could be an issue, I came prepared with multiple bug sprays and natural deterrents. Unfortunately, nothing worked—not even the spray sold at the office. The mosquitoes were relentless and honestly ruined what could have been a great trip.We didn’t even want to be outside long.Upon arrival, the woman at check-in wasn’t very personable, which didn’t make for a warm welcome. Shortly after setting up, we experienced electrical issues. I will say the owner and maintenance team responded quickly and were incredibly kind and helpful, resolving the issue in no time. That said, I feel the back sites near the marsh should be at least 50% cheaper than those up front. The bug situation is that bad. It would help if the campground implemented some kind of bug management—even natural spraying—especially in that area.If you're staying near the marsh, come extremely prepared or consider booking a site farther away from it.Things we liked -Food courtPoolManagementMaintenanceHow spread out sites wereNot so much likedGetting eaten alive and scratchingFront desk staffLocation
Jul 13, 2025 · Amber DimmichStarted my 10th year camping at sea pirate. Best campground in New Jersey. All of my stays there I've never had a problem cabins ,maintenance, the staff the campground is always kept clean. The pool is phenomenal. The cabins are always clean, air condition works great didn't have a problem at the bathhouses. had plenty of hot water for showers. As far as the bugs. Your staff is doing everything they can to maintain that problem. But bugs are bugs going to have that problem here or with any campground It happens. Your staff is excellent. And are doing a great job maintaining and keeping the campground clean. Had a great time looking forward to returning
Jul 22, 2025 · John DolejschWe been to a lot of campgrounds and this one was always our favorite. Been coming here for 5 years. Was wondering why it wasn’t packed like it used to be well we found out why. This year we came and not sure why they changed things but they are like a bunch of drill sergeants. Dealt with multiple rude employees all young teenagers. Last day at the pool witnessed two male teenage lifeguards guards SCREAMING angrily from across the pool blowing their whistle over and over saying GET OFF THE SLIDE!! It was the baby slide with literal babies on it. Who taught these employees that’s how you address babies instead of going over and calmly addressing the situation. I don’t EVER write reviews but if you want to go somewhere to be knit picked over every little thing you do then this is the place for you. We decided to leave early after multiple incidents with the staff picking at every little thing we did. Came to relax and left stressed out.
Jul 16, 2025 · TommySo. I have been here for three days during to scorching heat! Honestly, I really can not Find one thing to complain about that is within the abilities of the campground and what they can control. The green heads are vicious. I will not lie, but that’s beyond their control. We r in a vintage 1968 Nimrod trailer so we did buy a portable air conditioner from Walmart but that was no more than 5 minutes down the road. Pool area is kept immaculate. Fantastic water slide, the kids loved it. Plenty of activities to keep kiddos busy! Hannah is amazing! Highly recommend! They are expensive, but it is a true camping resort! You get what you pay for here! Final day still 5 stars!!!!!!
Jun 26, 2025 · Marybeth FiorelliWe really enjoy sea pirate campground! Our family comes every summer with a camper and family nearby visits with day passes. You can buy day or overnight passes for $20-30. The spots are close together and book out far in advance so you need to plan about a year ahead of time. You can buy a permanent year round camper spot and rent cabins as well. They have golf carts to rent, a kids play ground, a large pool with hot tub and kids pool, and covered cabana areas you can rent. There's usually live music at night near the pool which you can hear in the water. The bands have always been good! There's a small food stand inside with basic burgers and chicken fingers. $16 for chicken fingers, fries and a drink. They have ice cream and milkshakes too starting around $5.
