The campground is designed with amenities and activities to keep guests of all ages entertained, fostering an environment for creating lasting memories.
While the overall intent is to provide a positive camping experience, it's also important to acknowledge that some customer reviews highlight significant concerns regarding facility cleanliness, value for money, and pest issues. These aspects will be discussed further to offer a complete picture for prospective visitors.
Turtle Run Campground & RV is conveniently located at 3 Cedar Ln, Egg Harbor City, NJ 08215, USA. For New Jersey residents, the campground is easily reachable, making it an ideal destination for weekend getaways or longer vacations without extensive travel. It is approximately:
- 30 minutes from Atlantic City: This provides quick access to the city's renowned casinos, boardwalk, diverse dining options, and vibrant entertainment. Campers can enjoy the tranquility of their site by day and the excitement of the city by night.
- Closer to Long Beach Island (LBI): A popular 18-mile stretch of beautiful beaches, LBI is within a convenient driving distance, offering opportunities for sunbathing, swimming, fishing, and exploring charming coastal towns.
Beyond the immediate coastal attractions, the surrounding area offers further exploration opportunities. - Laundry Room: On-site laundry facilities are available for guest convenience.
- Dump Station and Portable Dumping Service: For RV campers, a dump station is available, and a portable dumping (honey wagon) service can be scheduled.
- LP Gas and Firewood: Propane filling service and firewood are available for purchase.

- Pet Policy: Pets are welcome at tent and RV sites (on leashes), but are generally not permitted inside rental units. Guests are responsible for cleaning up after their pets.

- Game Room and Recreational Fields: For additional fun, there's a game room with arcades, as well as outdoor areas for sports like horseshoes, basketball, and a general recreational field.
- Wooded Sites: Many campsites are heavily wooded, providing natural shade and a more immersive experience in the Pine Barrens environment. This contributes to a "fresh forest scent," appreciated by some visitors.
- Friendly Staff: Consistently highlighted in positive reviews, the staff and crew are often described as very friendly, accommodating, and great people, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere.
- Proximity to Major Attractions: As mentioned earlier, the campground's location provides easy and quick access to Atlantic City and Long Beach Island, allowing campers to combine a nature retreat with vibrant coastal experiences.
- Diverse Accommodation Options: The availability of tent sites, RV sites (full hookup), and various cabins (basic to deluxe with AC, small refrigerators, and bedding) caters to a wide range of camping preferences and comfort levels.
However, it is crucial for prospective visitors to be aware of significant concerns highlighted in recent customer reviews. These include issues with pervasive greenheads and large biting flies, particularly in wooded areas, which can make outdoor enjoyment challenging. Complaints about the cleanliness and lack of ventilation in bathrooms, especially with cold water in outdoor showers, are also prominent. Furthermore, some reviews raise concerns about the perceived value for money, with claims of being "ripped off and overcharged" and suggestions that cabin and RV rentals smelled of "mold and mildew" with "disgusting" floors and beds. These criticisms are severe and directly contradict the notion of a comfortable and enjoyable stay. While staff friendliness is praised, the overall condition and value proposition for some aspects of the campground appear to be a point of contention among recent visitors.
For reservations, inquiries about specific site availability, current rates, or to discuss any of the concerns raised in customer feedback, prospective guests are encouraged to contact Turtle Run Campground & RV directly:

For New Jersey locals seeking a convenient and activity-rich camping experience, Turtle Run Campground & RV presents itself as an option with a significant appeal. Its location in Egg Harbor City, deeply nestled in the Pine Barrens yet remarkably close to the bustling Jersey Shore and Atlantic City, offers an attractive duality. This allows residents to enjoy the tranquility of nature and easily access vibrant entertainment, making it suitable for diverse vacation preferences and minimizing travel time.
The campground's array of amenities, including a unique turtle-shaped pool, playground, game room, and a schedule of themed weekend activities, are designed to create a fun and engaging environment for families and children. The variety of camping options, from basic tent sites to full-hookup RV spots and comfortable cabins, caters to different comfort levels and budgets. Furthermore, the consistent praise for the friendly and accommodating staff contributes to a welcoming atmosphere that many campers value.
However, it is crucial for New Jersey locals to approach a stay at Turtle Run Campground & RV with a full understanding of recent feedback. While the location and concept are appealing, the recurring concerns about the condition and cleanliness of bathrooms, the presence of biting insects, and significant criticisms regarding the value for money and cleanliness of rental units cannot be overlooked. For those who prioritize these aspects, a thorough inquiry directly with the campground management and a realistic assessment of expectations based on recent reviews are essential. If these concerns can be adequately addressed or if the primary draw is the location and the potential for a lively, activity-filled weekend, then Turtle Run Campground & RV could still be a suitable choice for a local New Jersey getaway, provided expectations are managed and appropriate preparations (such as bug protection) are made.

Turtle Run Campground & RV Reviews
Cool little camping spot. Stayed a week and it was great except a few little things. They served food on the weekends, wish that was an all week thing though lol. Good place good people, my only complaint would be the bathrooms!!! They were not up to par with the rest of the campground. They were small no ventilation and they were not working half the time. The whole campground was basically using 1 or 2 toilets and they just couldn't keep up ...
Aug 02, 2024 · Chili Crawford"friendly staff".."awesome crew" ... yes they are very friendly and great people! HOWEVER.... do not waste your money here.... unfortunately this place is not as great as it's hyped up to be..... I've spent quite a few nights here... all different... tent, a cabin, and an RV... IT IS NOT worth spending the money to stay here... you could stay at a nice hotel instead of here... these people rip you off and over charge in EVERYTHING... This camp ground is ran by men.. so we can all figure out what this means... the campers and sites are dirty... I stayed in a cabin and RV.. they all smelled like mold and mildew.... floors were disgusting... beds were dirty... bathrooms dirty... no service anywhere. Don't get me started on the tent sites... This property is infested with green heads and huge flies that bite and torture you every second you're outside.... They are kinda deep in the woods so the bugs are TERRIBLE ... me and my son were getting stunk all night....The place to eat is only open on the weekends and closed the rest of the week...Their outdoor bathrooms DON"T have warm water, it's freezing... floors are disgusting in there as well... They really should be ashamed over charging the way they do... you could stay in a nice hotel and have a clean place for all you pay there.... This is not to "bash" the place or any of the workers... but personally it just was not worth the "hype".. me and my son were miserable and hated it... couldn't sit outside and he couldn't use any of his devices because of there being no wifi..... please save your money and go somewhere that's nice and where you're at peace of mind!!! somebody send sos
Apr 29, 2024 · Tiffany BrownWe stayed in one of the cabins for a quick night away with the kids. The employees were super friendly. Get the impression that the seasonal campers have a lot of activities together, but everyone is invited. The facilities were nice. Bathrooms were clean and well lit. Grounds were nice. Arcade was great as well. We drove around the campground to catch a glimpse of the tent sites, and they were nice. Spacious, and didn't seem to be too crowded together. We will definitely be back.
Sep 26, 2019 · Tom Stewart IIIThe staff is so friendly & accommodating. Family friendly with great pool & playground. Bathrooms clean. They have great pizza and fun activities. We stayed over Memorial Day weekend and they had 50/50 drawings & turtle races (using dice) and a horseshoe tournament. We had our motorcycle with us & rode each day in surrounding areas. Everyone is very friendly
May 28, 2019 · K FussOur 1st time here was through Groupon renting a trailer & we've gone back several times each summer!! We love this campground!! Overall, it's a smaller campground- but, the spots we've rented have been more than adequate providing us with enough space to set up our tents & equipment with room leftover. The events are fun, people are great, nice pool, plenty of activities to stay busy & turtle run grill with good food!! (& ice cream!). I Highly, highly recommend this place to everyone!
