Brook n Wood Family Campground Reviews
We came here intending to stay for a week. After a few days, we decided we wanted to stay for an additional week.A beautiful RV resort. The sites are huge and many are shaded which was so nice in this heatwave. The grounds are immaculate with rolling hills and large mature trees. The owners take great pride in this park and it shows. Everything is so clean and kept up very nicely. The pool is wonderful...sparkling clear water with lawn chairs provided. Not too warm and not too cold. Perfect! We are up in the H section and it's perfect! Very quiet and like I mentioned...big beautiful trees! There's a creek and a trail which we haven't hiked yet.The owners are friendly and engaging. Being full-time RVers, that's always a big plus. I like that they interact with the guests and drive around the park making sure everything is safe. There are several waterfalls nearby as well if you enjoy hiking. We look forward to coming back to this lovely RV park.
Jul 11, 2025 · Karen FlahiveSgt. Gruff at the entrance."Why didn't you call ahead to look? 5 mph speed limit, stop at the stop signs." Was what we got at the entrance. Made me feel a little uncomfortable. He took us to office to get visitors pass, his wifie signed us in. She was friendly and engaging. He warmed up abit after our encounter at the entrance. Family run place. Will not consider for our get away. Pool, general store, huge dog walkers area.Large playground and modest mini golf course
Jun 26, 2025 · Jim “Jimbo” CarrollAvoid Brookwood at All CostsBrookwood is a run-down park owned by two individuals with a clear “trailer park” mentality. I brought in a Class A coach and was immediately met with hostility—the owner literally chased me down on a golf cart, toothless and aggressive, like something out of a bad sitcom. The vibe here is completely off, the service is nonexistent, and we were treated like we were intruding on someone’s backyard barbecue. The facilities are outdated and falling apart. Unless you’re into the “rusted lawn chair and burned-out grill” aesthetic, steer clear. If you value your rig, your peace of mind, or even just common decency, save yourself the hassle and head to Copake instead—it’s night and day.
Apr 20, 2025 · Andy GoodwinA really uncomfortable experience. We were new to the area and stayed here so we could visit friends in the area. Our local friends came to pick us up in the morning and were chased down and harassed by the owner.Later, a friend dropped me off and waited for me in Visitor Parking while I unhooked my RV.Another owner approached my friend and asked why he was waiting for me - in the Visitor Parking! My friend was interrogated and made to feel like a trespasser when he was behaving very normal by politely waiting in the designated Visitor Parking spot - he did not even get out of his truck!Do not stay here if your intention is to explore the surrounding area with friends.Your friends will not even be able to step foot on the property to pick you up and take you out for breakfast.Really weird owners, why run a campground if you are afraid of people?
Apr 02, 2025 · Monica StaatsWonderful place with lots to do near by. Unusual to see large sites at a private campground. I go to state parks to get this much room on a site and state parks have a 2 week stay limit.
