Forest Park is a mobile home community situated in Wallkill, Ulster County, New York. Mobile home parks, sometimes referred to as manufactured home communities, offer a unique residential experience, often blending community living with the benefits of owning your own home. These communities typically consist of individual lots leased by residents, where they place their manufactured or mobile homes. This arrangement can often lead to lower housing costs compared to traditional stick-built homes, making them an attractive option for a diverse range of individuals and families.
Forest Park aims to provide a residential setting in the Wallkill area. While specific details about its founding or the exact number of sites are not widely publicized, its presence in the Wallkill community indicates it has been a part of the local housing landscape for some time. Prospective residents often look to mobile home parks for their potential affordability and the sense of community they can offer. However, as with any housing decision, it's crucial to gather comprehensive information and understand the nuances of living in such a community.
Forest Park is located at 22-32 Falon Ln, Wallkill, NY 12589, USA. Wallkill is a hamlet and census-designated place within the town of Wallkill, in Ulster County. This region of New York is known for its beautiful rural landscapes, agricultural heritage, and proximity to various recreational opportunities. Residents of Forest Park would find themselves in a quieter, more spread-out environment compared to the bustling urban centers of New York State.
The accessibility of Forest Park is primarily dependent on personal transportation. While Wallkill offers local amenities, including shops, schools, and services, a personal vehicle is generally necessary for convenient access to these. Larger towns and cities in the Hudson Valley, such as Middletown, Newburgh, and the city of Poughkeepsie, are within a reasonable driving distance, providing access to more extensive shopping, dining, entertainment, and employment opportunities. For those who need to commute further, major roadways like NY-208 and NY-17K are accessible, connecting residents to the wider regional road network. Public transportation options are limited in this rural setting, so prospective residents should factor in the need for a car when considering living at Forest Park.
While specific, exhaustive lists of services offered by Forest Park are not publicly detailed, mobile home communities typically provide a range of essential services covered within the monthly lot rent. Based on general industry practices and the nature of these communities, the following services are commonly provided or are important considerations for residents:
- Lot Lease: The primary service, providing residents with a plot of land for their manufactured home.
- Basic Utilities Infrastructure: While residents typically pay for their own utilities (water, sewer, electricity, propane/natural gas), the park provides the necessary infrastructure for these connections. It is important to note that some public feedback has raised concerns about water quality and pipe integrity within the park, which residents should investigate thoroughly.
- Common Area Maintenance: This generally includes the upkeep of shared roads, lighting, and any communal spaces within the park.
- Snow Removal: Often, parks will handle snow removal on main roads within the community, though individual lot clearing remains the resident's responsibility.
- Waste Management: Services for trash pickup are usually provided.
- Community Management: The park has management in place to oversee operations and enforce community rules. However, recent resident feedback indicates significant concerns regarding the effectiveness and professionalism of the current management, citing issues with communication, problem resolution, and fostering a positive living environment.
- Pet Policies: Most mobile home parks have specific pet policies, including potential restrictions on breed, size, or number of pets. It's advisable to clarify these directly with management.
Forest Park, as a mobile home community, offers certain characteristics that appeal to its residents. These features are typical of such communities, though specific details about individual homes and amenities would vary by property:
- Affordable Housing Option: For many, manufactured homes in communities like Forest Park offer a more budget-friendly path to homeownership compared to traditional site-built homes in New York.
- Community Living: Mobile home parks often foster a sense of community among residents, providing opportunities for neighborly interaction.
- Individual Lot Space: Residents typically have their own dedicated lot space, offering a degree of privacy and outdoor area for gardening or personal use.
- Variety of Home Styles: The park likely features a range of manufactured home styles and sizes, catering to different needs and preferences.
- Rural Setting: Located in Wallkill, residents benefit from a quieter, more rural environment, away from urban congestion, with access to the natural beauty of Ulster County.
- Proximity to Local Amenities: While rural, the park is reasonably close to the local services, schools, and small businesses in Wallkill.
It is crucial to acknowledge and investigate the significant concerns raised by current residents regarding the management of Forest Park. Feedback explicitly mentions "poorly managed," "not at all" managed, and "inability to manage," leading to "hostility amongst neighbors." Issues with water quality, frequent pipe breaks, and damage to yards from repairs that are not subsequently fixed are also prominent. Prospective residents should approach with caution and conduct thorough due diligence, including speaking with current residents and directly addressing these concerns with park management, before committing to living in Forest Park.

** REWARD OFFERED***Please help us find zoom. They were dumped by their owner who lives in Forest Park in different areas in Wallkill. May 26, 2025 · Sophie WroblewskiDon't live here! Poorly managed, or more accurately, not at all. Management creates hostility amongst neighbors because of their inability to manage. Current Management inherited the business due to the passing of the previous owner and its painfully obvious that current Management doesn't have a clue of what they are doing! Hence the creation of hostility among us poor saps who live here thinking this was a nice place to Live. It is not. Also, the water is disgusting and barely treated to make it safe for drinking and washing. Underground pipes break frequently because they are very old and have never been replaced. Management will tear up your yard to patch the pipes (never actually fix it!) And never repair the damage done to the yard.I am a first time homeowner and was excited for this journey but it has been nothing but a nightmare since signing my life away for the next 20yrs.

Jul 10, 2024 · dennis 4:20gamingMultiple calls about the brown water and still nothing has been done for over 5 months! This is what comes straight from the tap at my mother's house. I called the department of health about the note on the mailboxes about the "severe drought" a few days ago. There is no drought. Expect a visit from them!

Dec 30, 2022 · Keep SmilingThe only reason I even go here is because a friend of mine lives here. The trailer parks maintenance and staff in general are the worst they do nothing. Their roads for the longest time had holes that could swallow up entire cars and the speed bumps were 2 feet tall so no matter how slowly you went you shredded the bottom of your vehicle. They honestly should have been sued into bankruptcy years ago due to all the damage they intentionally caused to people's vehicles. They have recently repaved and added a foot or more in blacktop shortening the two speed bumps that were literally 2' tall and then added in a dozen or so 4" bumps through the park. Honestly if you aren't desperate or have a friend that lives here to visit just stay the hell away.
