Oakview Bed and Breakfast Reviews
I booked this B&B because it is walking distance to the Jazz Fest Venue. I will continue to book here because the southern hospitality you get here is top notch. Russell is the most gracious and kind man you will ever meet. This family owned and operated B&B is quaint and in the perfect, quiet location. Across from City Park and close to the trolley stop. Russell makes sure his guests are taken care of from the small details to having sun screen in the room to making sure you have a delicious home cooked breakfast in the morning. I can't say enough good things about Russell and the kindness he showers on his guests.
May 07, 2024 · Pam BThis was our first time at a bed and breakfast and it was simply wonderful. Mr. Russell (the owner) makes you feel like you are a part of his family, and takes care of everything you need. The breakfast each day was filling and fueled our journey around the city. The next time we find ourselves in New Orleans, we will definitely be coming back to Oakview!
Oct 20, 2024 · R CI have been staying at Oak View, exclusively for about 4 years now. Russell Bowie is the most accommodating, kind, and down to earth B&B owners I’ve ever met! He is truly a friend! The location is PERFECT! Neighborhood is quiet, City Park is across the street, as well as the museum! There is a trolly car walking distance from the house. Easy to park your car at the house and use the public transportation provided! Much safer than the local parking lots and decks.Very “at home” feel, while also insuring privacy. Every room is unique in its own accord. CLEAN! Russel is very easy to get a home of as well. Many local restaurants around for delivery as well as a night out in town without the hustle, bustle , waiting and high prices of the tourist spots in the Quarter! If I could give 10 stars- I would. 😍😍
May 04, 2024 · Shelley Rye Du'CielI enjoyed my stay at the Oakview Bed and Breakfast. Russell is a wonderful host. He's very friendly and pointed me in the direction of the best snowballs I've ever had! The B&B was in the perfect location, right by City Park, Café Du Monde, the art museum, Pandora's Snowballs, and the trolley. So it was easy to travel to and from the French Quarters. The house is beautiful with lots of old treasures inside and the room was clean.
Jun 16, 2024 · Erin RosemondThis is a very old house, so there are some quirks and minor issues, but overall we had a very good stay.Pros: the aesthetics, homemade breakfast included, drinks included, location, possibly haunted 🙂Cons: a lot of stairs, some of them very steep; our shower was working and fine but could not be used as a tubI would stay here again, although personally I would ask for the room on the main level because those stairs were killer for me.
