Winterset Farms

2801 Ebright Rd, Wilmington, DE 19810, USA

4.0
Winterset Farms is a great place to live on the Pa. side. I live on the Pa. side and love it. I have the best neighbors in the world. A very eclectic group of people young and old. It is in the Garnet Valley School District that is a plus. The lot fees are a little much but what are you going to do. The front office are very nice people who deal with a lot. I appreciate the leniency at times when money is tight. I just wish that the taxes were lower and included. Also wish since I pay said taxes that Garnet Valley should be picking up my trash. The world today take, take, take, never give back. Property taxes. Paying for something I already own is the biggest racket going. All in all the place is a nice place to raise a family. - Bwdrlne

Introduction / Overview

Winterset Farms is a mobile home community with a fascinating geographical characteristic: it is located on the highest point of the First State and uniquely straddles the **Mason-Dixon Line**, effectively dividing the community into two sections, with residents on both the Delaware and Pennsylvania sides. This dual-state presence offers a highly unusual and compelling aspect for prospective residents, particularly those who might prioritize school districts or tax implications associated with either state.

According to residents, Winterset Farms is a community with an "eclectic group of people young and old," suggesting a diverse and vibrant mix of individuals and families. This variety in demographics can contribute to a rich community experience, fostering different perspectives and interactions. One resident specifically highlights living on the "Pa. side" and loving it, emphasizing having "the best neighbors in the world." This positive sentiment regarding neighborly relations points to a friendly and supportive atmosphere within the park.

However, like any community, Winterset Farms also has its unique considerations. While residents appreciate the "nice people" in the front office and their "leniency at times when money is tight," some concerns are raised regarding lot fees, with one resident noting they are "a little much." Another point of contention relates to taxes, with a desire for them to be lower or included in lot fees, and a wish for Garnet Valley (Pennsylvania) to pick up trash, suggesting potential variations in services or perceptions depending on which side of the state line one resides.

A specific concern highlighted in reviews pertains to parking, with one visitor receiving a "nasty note" for parking "one trailer down" from their destination, indicating strict or perhaps rigidly enforced parking rules that visitors and new residents should be aware of. Despite these specific points, the overarching sentiment from some residents is that it is "a nice place to raise a family," indicating its suitability for long-term family living.
