YMCA Camp Collins Reviews
My daughter goes here every year and she loves it. The kids and staff are so friendly to each other. The only downside is that they replaced the horses with mountain biking
Jul 13, 2025 路 Bill SherwinOne of the cleanest and well planned out camps I have ever seen. We did volunteer service work here and the staff were all excellent!
May 28, 2025 路 Lance PufferMy son went to Camp Collins for the last 2 years and will not be returning. This summer he was bullied for the whole week and this kid threw paint pigment powder up my sons nose during arts and crafts. This led to difficulty breathing and an ER visit when my son got home. He had pnuemonia most likely caused by the powder. Nobody called me to tell me this bullying was going on! I requested a partial refund due to my sons miserable time and medical bills, but nobody would return my calls or emails. Send your child at your own risk!!
Oct 21, 2024 路 Somer F.For 2 years in a row YMCA Camp Collins has infected my kid with Covid. Last year I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, even though my daughter told me the reason they didn't test her is because they ran out of tests 馃槼 This year my 11yo was obviously sick when I picked him up. He told me he was discouraged by his counselor from going to the nurse 2 days in a row. Then they gave him a "sprout" award for overcoming the challenge of being sick at camp! Every one of his friends (4 kids total) also returned from camp with Covid.Obviously I have developed *some* risk tolerance around Covid, but the fact they are not isolating or testing symptomatic kids (or even giving them some Tylenol) shows a total lack of care for families and the community 馃憥馃憥
Aug 14, 2024 路 Michelle DuBarryI went to Camp Collins on a field trip with my science class, for 5 nights and 6 days. It was such an amazing experience that I'll never forget and always look back on, with such positive memories :) The cabins that we stayed in were very cute and sort of looked like hobbit holes! (we even had a bathroom build into the cabin) The food was surprisingly good, and instead of all of us individually lining up to get food with a tray, there were student helpers that would get bowels of the food and bring them over to the table we were sitting at. Then as a table we would pass the bowels of food around to one another. Most of the staff were really nice/helpful! Once you get assigned a cabin, you also get assigned a student leader, who basically chaperones your cabin. (the student leaders are highschool students) I got one of the best student leaders and she was SO cool!
